Mr. Omer Iqbal Pasha is one of the leading professionals in the securities industry in Pakistan and has been associated with the brokerage/capital market/financial services industry for over 18 years. He is currently serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of M/s Pasha Securities (Private) Limited-corporate member of Islamabad Stock Exchange. Besides, Mr. Pasha also serves as a director of M/s Prime Capital Management (Pvt) Limited.
Being a prolific stock broker, Mr. Pasha has the distinction of serving on different elected leadership positions of the Islamabad Stock Exchange such as; Director, Treasurer, Vice Chairman and the Chairman of the Exchange on multiple occasions. He has also served as a Board member at other leading capital market institutions such as National Commodity Exchange Limited, National Clearing & Settlement Company of Pakistan Limited, and M/s JCR-VIS credit rating company-one of the leading corporate credit rating entity in Pakistan. He was also appointed as lead Manager for the substantial takeover/Acquisition of one of the listed company of stock Exchange.
During his association with the securities/brokerage industry, Mr. Pasha has built a very strong reputation for advocating fair & just business practices, expanding investors’ awareness and for introducing modernization in the operations of the stock exchange. He is also credited for re-initiating the process for the construction of the ISE Towers after a very tough and difficult litigation process. Similarly, it was also during his tenure as the Chairman of the Exchange that all the brokers of ISE were offered a sizeable office space for the securities business.
Mr. Pasha is a commerce graduate who studied at the Hailey College of Commerce of the University of Punjab. Besides, Mr. Pasha has also attended training programs related to the securities industry both at the United States Securities & Exchange Commission, and at various other international locations. Mr. Pasha is also one of the graduates of the National Defense University, where he was selected to attend the National Security Workshop (NSW) along with some other hand-picked leaders representing the senate, the national & provincial parliaments, district nazims, bureaucrats, senior armed forces officers and prominent business & community leaders in Pakistan. Mr. Pasha has also represented the securities business & industry delegations/negotiation teams and has participated in numerous other seminars, conferences, road shows related to the capital markets.
